In this paper we consider the youth population of the countryside in Mexico, particularly the oriental part of Morelos, which has recently joined the international migratory flow between Mexico and the United States since nafta. In the last thirty years, it has been observed how the growing degradation of the living conditions of the rural population (educational, labor, health, housing, etc.), contribute to the increase of corruption and the violence that exists in these regions. The above, has one of its strongest impacts on young people who join the working life, therefore, the forced migration of thousands of young people appears as an “exit”. From the research-intervention carried out, we have been able to dialogue with young rural people and their families who opted for emigration to the United States, and in a critical view of this American dream, they allowed themselves to see that in many cases there is no improvement in the conditions of life and work in the United States, living with the fear of being deported, and that what is incorporated into their communities when they return to them or via what they send (money transfer or products), often modifies the way of life, subjecting it more to a consumption model and sharpens the environmental and health crisis that their communities are experiencing.
