The Province of Castellón is going through one of their best times in recent history in
relation to the development of tourism, partially due to the budget increase in the
provincial division of tourism and culture, and thanks to the Castellón Airport being
reopened and the city now being part of the high-speed train national network,
known as AVE, which connects them not only to the rest of the country, but also to
the rest of Europe. But there’s still no public, or semi-public, service such as a film
commission that exists to take advantage of film-induced tourism arriving to some of
the cities of the province, such as Peñíscola. This research document seeks to
analyse how neighbouring cities, and their film offices, manage the permits needed
to film on-location, speed-up the processes of the production companies and
promote the arrival of tourists looking for their favourite fictional places, in addition to
how this work can bring some other benefits and income to the region. [-]
