Influencia de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación entre el alumnado de 10 a 12 años

Abstract

El uso de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC) se ha incrementado por parte de los jóvenes, esto está condicionado por la forma de interaccionar de la sociedad y su utilización para realizar diferentes actividades. El objetivo principal de esta investigación es estudiar y analizar la relación que se produce entre internet, videojuegos, televisión y teléfono móvil y la percepción que los menores tienen sobre los posibles problemas que el uso de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación conlleva en base a las variables de frecuencia, lugar y tiempo. Se contó una muestra de 59 alumnos (35.6% chicos y 64.4% chicas), con edades entre 10, 11 y 12 años (Media 11.36 años y DT = .804) distribuidos en centros escolares de la provincia de Córdoba (España), cuyos datos son recogidos mediante el cuestionario detección de nuevas adicciones (DENA). En el análisis de los resultados muestra que existe relación significativa entre las variables frecuencia y tiempo con internet, videojuegos, televisión y teléfono móvil, así como entre las variables de cada uno de los bloques estudiados. Además, se predicen que el uso abusivo de las TIC tiene una relación significativa y positiva con la adicción a las mismas. Se comentan las implicaciones de estos hallazgos para la investigación y la práctica psicoeducativa.

The use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) has increased among young people, this is conditioned by the way society interacts and its use for different activities. The main objective of this research is to study and analyze the relationship between Internet, video games, television and cell phones and the perception that minors have about the possible problems that the use of Information and Communication Technologies entails based on the variables of frequency, place and time. A sample of 59 students (35.6% boys and 64.4% girls), aged between 10, 11 and 12 years (Mean 11.36 years and SD = .804) distributed in schools in the province of Cordoba (Spain), whose data were collected using the questionnaire for the detection of new addictions (DENA). The analysis of the results shows that there is a significant relationship between the variables frequency and time spent with Internet, video games, television and cell phone, as well as between the variables of each of the blocks studied. In addition, it is predicted that the abusive use of ICTs has a significant and positive relationship with ICT addiction. The implications of these findings for research and psychoeducational practice are discussed.
