El lenguaje contra la modernidad. Un estudio de la obra "Sobre el lenguaje en general y sobre el lenguaje de los humanos" de Walter Benjamin

Abstract

Sobre el lenguaje en general y sobre el lenguaje de los humanos es una obra en la que Walter Benjamin plantea no solo una teoría del lenguaje sino una epistemología y una ontología apoyándose en el relato bíblico del Génesis. En dicha obra confluyen su formación neokantiana con el pensamiento judío-sionista. El presente estudio pretende trazar una línea desde las ideas kantianas sobre el lenguaje, su posterior crítica por parte de Hamann hasta la interpretación de Hermann Cohen del pensamiento de Kant. Sin dejar de lado la influencia de Gershom Scholem, ya que el texto estudiado es una respuesta a las preguntas que Scholem plantea a Benjamin sobre el lenguaje. Todo ello para ofrecer una lectura que saque a relucir su carácter crítico con la modernidad, poniendo en el centro de la reflexión al ser humano y la forma en la que se relaciona tanto con el resto de humanos como con la naturaleza.

On Language as Such and on the Language of Man is a work where Walter Benjamin present not only a theory of language but an epistemology and an ontology based on the Biblical story of the Genesis. This work joins his newkantian education with jewish-zionist tradition. This study aims to describe a line from kantian ideas over language, to the critic made by Hamann until the interpretation of Kant’s writings by Hermann Cohen. Without neglecting the influence of Gershom Scholem since the text studied is an answer to the questions that Scholem asks Benjamin about language. All to offer a reading that brings out his critical character with modernity and locating human in the center of the thought and the way in which it relates to both the rest of humans and nature.
