La vida del maquis: la resistència al franquisme en la memòria col·lectiva

Abstract

La figura del maquis s’ha vist en moltes ocasions mitificada i en altres totalment maltractada. La història vertadera de cadascun d’aquests lluitadors antifranquistes sempre es veu desdibuixada per la falsa propaganda i el discurs del règim. Discurs que en l’actualitat encara colpeixen les memòries dels qui van viure la guerra civil i el període repressiu franquista. Aquest article, a través d’entrevistes –sobretot–, vol apropar el lector a aqueixa realitat en la memòria popular de les comarques de Castelló. La dura vida de fam i fred que van suportar els maquis; les estratègies de lluita contra la guardia civil i els sabotatges contra el règim franquista i la imatge maniquea dels maquis en la memòria popular són les principals temàtiques que tractarem en aquest article.

The figure of the maquis has often been mythologised and on other occasions very badly treated. The true story of each of these anti-Francoist fighters is always blackened by the false propaganda and discourse of the regime. It is a discourse that still lodges in the memories of those who lived through the Civil War and the period of Francoist repression. Above all through interviews, this article is intended to bring the reader closer to this situation in the popular memory of the Castelló area. The hard life of hunger and cold the maquis had to tolerate, thestrategies for fighting the Civil Guard, the sabotage against the Francoist regime and the Manichean image of the maquis in the popular memory are the main issues we will deal with in this article.
