The main objective of this project is to promote reading through the creation of a didactic
unit and to approach students to comics and literature. This proposal will show the benefits of

The main objective of this project is to promote reading through the creation of a didactic
unit and to approach students to comics and literature. This proposal will show the benefits of
literature in the EFL class and will try to improve students’ perceptions of comics. The tools
selected in order to evaluate these aspects are two rubrics and pre-questionnaires and
post-questionnaires.
This project has been conducted taking into account three methodologies: the cooperative
model, the communicative approach and the thinking-based learning (TBL). These are
student-centered methodologies that foster students’ interaction, cooperation and critical
thinking. Following these models, we developed a didactic unit aimed at 2nd of ESO through
which students could work on a comic and analyse the linguistic and personal-growth aspects.
Finally, this paper will comment on the positive impact that the implementation had on
students’ perceptions of comics, by including the results and impressions gathered from the
instruments used. [-]
