Human societies sculpt their bodies. Scarification, deformities, bone stretching, tattoos, cuts, painting,
makeup, piercing and implants are the representation of ethnic, social or sexual identity. The genital
area is the focus of many of these different practices associated with gender and sexuality. Genital
transformation represents an additional aspect of the «embodied gender». Increasingly, the ethnomedical
discourse regarding women that occurs within our society accepts only one female body model, which
in turn leads to an increase in the the amount of cosmetic surgery. The female cosmetic genital surgery
is a new form of oppression against women related to society´s cultural structures regarding seduction.
This article explores the significance of these body practices and their integration into the artifice of
seduction. [-]
