New technologies have been in our society for decades, and they have changed our world from an industrialised world to a digital world. ICTs have changed the way we communicate with other people or the way we shop. ... [+]
New technologies have been in our society for decades, and they have changed our world from an industrialised world to a digital world. ICTs have changed the way we communicate with other people or the way we shop. They have helped to raise many countries economy and they have facilitated people’s life. Most people in Occident are familiarised with ICTs, especially young people who have been born with this phenomenon.
However, classes in secondary schools keep on following traditional methodologies and teachers barely implement ICTs in class. The web 2.0 allows people to interact through the Internet thanks to tools such as blogs, wikis, forums, social networks, etc. These tools have innumerable benefits in education and teachers should take profit of them in order to challenge the traditional education and improve students’ skills.
What we pretend is to implement one of these tools (a wiki) in a secondary school class as a mean of learning a grammar point (Reported Speech) and analyse if the results of the implementation are positive or negative. [-]
