The empiricist-rationalist-positivist cultural load that grips our commitments to theoretical reflection has been imposing over and over again a typologizing and labelling mechanism that promotes the proliferation ad infinitum of new concepts and hierarchies. Let’s formulate an initial question: can the narrative mechanism be separated from the expressive resources that build it? In other words: shouldn’t we establish typologies in a relational way, always keeping in mind narrative processes and, ultimately, the relationships between point of view and enunciation? The answer leads us to find the link that still exists between literary and filmic theory (which we have to extend to audiovisual in general). [-]
