La educación musical, estado de la cuestión y perspectivas transformadoras

Abstract

Presentamos el resultado de una investigación sobre las orientaciones predominantes en la enseñanza y aprendizaje de la música y su implementación en la Educación Infantil, Primaria y Secundaria en las escuelas e institutos públicos de Cataluña por lo que respecta al uso de recursos musicales, el tiempo destinado a esta disciplina, el espacio donde se desarrollan las sesiones y la integración de la música en la enseñanza de otros ámbitos curriculares. La metodología elegida combina la perspectiva cualitativa y cuantitativa: la recogida de datos se hace mediante unos cuestionarios con preguntas cuantitativas de valoración y cualitativas abiertas, enviados a docentes generalistas y especialistas en educación musical. Las respuestas cuantitativas han sido tratadas estadísticamente, y se han analizado también las respuestas abiertas. Con ello, se dibuja un estado de la cuestión y se ponen de relieve los déficits más perentorios en educación musical. Los resultados ponen de relieve que la parcelación disciplinar de la educación es poco permeable y que conviene avanzar hacia un modelo de educación transversal que propicie un conocimiento integrado y dé lugar a proyectos artísticos interdisciplinares e intermediales que hibriden todos los lenguajes, tanto en la recepción como en la interpretación y la creación. Se identifican algunas causas de esta constatación y se aportan argumentos y reflexiones, con la voluntad de propiciar una transformación educativa que ofrezca una concepción más maleable de la música en el sistema educativo, que le permita convertirse en una disciplina clave para la promoción de la cultura artística y la creatividad.

We present the result of an investigation on the predominant orientations in the teaching and learning of music and its implementation in Preschool, Primary and Secondary Education in public schools and institutes of Catalonia with regard to the use of musical resources, the time allocated to this discipline, the space where the sessions take place and the integration of music in the teaching of other curricular fields. The chosen methodology combines qualitative and quantitative perspective: the data is collected through questionnaires with open quantitative evaluation and qualitative questions, sent to general teachers and specialists in music education. Quantitative responses have been treated statistically, and open responses have also been analysed. With this, a status of the issue is drawn and the most peremptory deficits in music education are highlighted. The results show that the disciplinary division of education is not permeable enough, therefore we should move towards a cross-curricular education model that is committed to an interdisciplinary and intermedial artistic education, which hybridizes all languages, both in reception, interpretation and creation. Some causes of this finding are identified and arguments and reflections are provid- ed, with the will to promote an educational change that offers a more malleable conception of mu- sic, which allows it to become a key discipline for the promotion of artistic culture and creativity.
