In this Final Degree Project, firstly, a scientific review has been carried out to investigate the
motivation of pupils to engage in physical activity, specifically in the primary education stage. In order
to delve deeper into this, we have analysed in detail the benefits and importance of physical activity
at this age, as well as the motivation of these pupils to do so.
Next, an intervention proposal has been made, which has not been carried out due to lack of
time, in which a series of questionnaires are given to all primary school pupils at three different times
during the school year. The aim is to observe and check their motivation to do physical activity, as
well as the differences in the results depending on age and sex.
The aim of this work is to make the reader aware of the current situation in primary schools with
regard to the subject in question, as well as to make teachers aware of the current situation with the
help of questionnaires.
Finally, after carrying out the scientific review, it was confirmed that as pupils advance in age
and school year, their motivation to do physical activity decreases drastically, as well as the
difference between the sexes, with the female sex being less motivated than the male, and the great
influence that the physical education teacher has in this happening. [-]
