Human resource practices and business performance

Abstract

Companies have evolved over time with all their departments, including the Human Resources Department. In the present work, we have analyzed the practices of Human Resources, specifically the high performance practices and the business performance. Firstly, the evolution of the functions of the Human Resources Department over time has been analysed, to then explain what are the high performance practices and how, according to several studies carried out by different authors, they have a positive effect on the company's performance. Afterwards, the director of the Human Resources Department of the company Profiltek Spain S.A., located in Quartell (Valencia), was interviewed in order to know what human resources practices are.
