dc.description.abstractThis paper investigates the inclusion of innovative teaching methods in order to complement the traditional methods used in Spain regarding the English as a Foreign Language (EFL). To fulfill this objective, a lesson plan is designed following a Task-Based Language Teaching approach and using Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in order to improve different competences in learners. This proposal is focused on the teaching of vocabulary to Year 11 (4ºESO) students. The general objective of this teaching proposal is to implement the use of ICTs in the English language teaching-learning process. In order to improve different language skills in students, 3 sessions are designed using the education technology (EdTech) called Plickers to complete three activities related to three different topics of vocabulary which are: food, human body, and technology. The paper is divided into six different parts. Firstly, an introduction to Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), followed by a theoretical background divided into different sections including the main methods of teaching the English Foreign Language used in Spain which are Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) and Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT), the role of ICTs in education and a brief description of the educational technology used in this paper (Plickers). After that, the objectives and the method will be introduced, describing important aspects such as the context in which the application will be used, the participants and the different materials that are necessary in order to complete the activities. Finally, the lesson plan designed with Plickers will be presented, with a description of the three sessions and a brief conclusion.ca_CA
