The objective of this study, has been to find out if Emotional Intelligence has a positive
influence to deal with stressful situations at work, in a sample of 29 workers from the
services sector of the province of Castellón, since, there are a multitude of studies and
research that have shown that Emotional Intelligence helps manage stress. That is,
developing skills that allow you to recognize both your own emotions, and those of others
and knowing how to regulate them provides an ease of self-control when a person feels
stressed.
To this end, a questionnaire has been used that included the Spanish version, of the
scale of the Emotional Intelligence of Wong and Law (WLEIS). It is a scale that measures
the emotions themselves, the emotions of others, the use of emotions and the regulation
of emotions. The questionnaire from Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey (MBIGS), to measure work-burned syndrome, which is valued in three dimensions,
exhaustion, cynicism and ineprofience of professional efficacy.
And Utrecht World Engagement Scale (UWES-9) by Schaufeli, Becker and Salanova.
Assessing vigor, which refers to high energy levels and persistence in the face of
difficulties; dedication, which is the meaning or meaning that the worker perceives of the
work he does; and the absorption that is to be happily immersed in one's work.
Engagement workers feel an energetic and affective connection to the task they perform
and perceive themselves empowered to meet the demands of their work.
Once the questionnaires have been carried out, a statistical analysis has been carried
out with the SPSS program (version 25). Mainly, the descriptive statistics of the three
variables described have been analyzed, using the statistic "Cronbach's Alpha" to find
out the degree of reliability of the measuring instruments. Finally, the correlations
between the different variables have been analyzed to find out the relationship between
them and whether the hypothesis occurs. [-]
