Descubrir la diversidad sexual mediante la LIJ

Abstract

Cuando nos referíamos al concepto de diversidad lo asociábamos a las diferencias religiosas, culturales o incluso a las personas con NEE o NEAE. Hoy en día, cuando nos referimos a este término empieza a estar relacionado con la sexualidad, un concepto que cada vez se siente más incluido dentro del ámbito social, pero aun así es un tema polémico cuando intentamos relacionarlo dentro del sistema educativo, ya sea a nivel infantil, de primaria o educación secundaria. Dentro del sistema educativo existe la creencia errónea de que ciertos temas como las ideologías políticas, la muerte o la diversidad sexual no son adecuados para trabajar en el aula con los más pequeños. Estamos dentro de un sistema educativo sobreprotector que no permite mostrar una realidad exacta, independientemente de la edad de los sujetos. El nuevo sistema de educación se impulsa a formar niños y niñas desde una perspectiva innovadora, dejando atrás la educación tradicional y potenciando el desarrollo del conocimiento y el saber. Son grandes ideas que estoy dispuesta a llevar a cabo. Por ello, elijo poder tratar la diversidad sexual dentro de educación infantil, ya que, para empezar a cambiar el mundo, hay que empezar por las cosas más pequeñas. Ahora bien, siempre hay que tener en cuenta las necesidades de nuestros alumnos y alumnas, y tener la capacidad de poder adaptar nuestra metodología a las mismas. Uno de los recursos que se intenta fomentar dentro de éste ámbito es el de la lectura. Por ello, el método que hemos decidido utilizar para poder trabajar este tema en el aula de infantil es mediante una literatura infantil acompañada de las tertulias dialógicas, ya que cada cuento viene seguido de una reflexión para poder asimilar los conceptos de deseamos enseñar a nuestros niños, desarrollando así su capacidad crítica.

When we refer to the concept of diversity, we usually associate it with religious, cultural or people with SEN or EEAN. Nowadays, when we use this term, it may be related to sexuality, since this reality has changed in the social sphere and therefore the way we refer to it. In spite of this, it’s a controversial topic when we include it in the educational system, either childhood education, primary or secondary education. Within the educational system, there are still people that affirm that certain issues such as political ideologies, death and sexual diversity aren’t suitable for working in the classroom with the little ones. We are within a protective educational system that doesn’t allow us to show an exact reality, independently of the age of the subjects.

The new education system it is encouraged to train children from an innovative perspective, leaving behind traditional education and promoting the development of knowledge. These are great ideas that I’m willing to carry out, so I choose to treat sexual diversity in childhood education, because to start changing the world, you have to start with the smallest things.

However, working with this term in the childhood classroom doesn’t mean that we can treat it with all ways, we always have to take into account the needs of our students, and we have to have the ability to adapt our methodology to them. One of the resources that we try to promote within this field is reading and, therefore, the method we have decided to use to work on this subject within the classroom is based on children's literature with the literary dialogical discussion, because story is followed by a joint reflection used to reinforce the concepts we want to teach our children and developing their critical morality.
