La influencia de la edad en el desarrollo motriz del alumnado de infantil

Abstract

En este país, por norma general, se agrupa al alumnado por año de nacimiento. Esto conlleva a que, en las aulas, compartan educación alumnos de una gran franja temporal, en la que puede haber hasta 12 meses de diferencia entre este alumnado. Esta diferencia temporal puede notarse más en edades tempranas (en la educación infantil), donde se produce el principal desarrollo integral del ser humano y los cambios son continuos. El objetivo de este trabajo es estudiar e investigar si hay una diferencia motriz en el alumnado de tres años según su mes de nacimiento. Para ello partimos de la hipótesis de que el mes de nacimiento es un hándicap a tener en cuenta en los primeros años de educación. Para llevar a cabo esta investigación, se han realizado diferentes pruebas a 25 alumnos de una misma clase, distribuyéndolos en tres bloques. Con estas pruebas, se ha evaluado la madurez de sus habilidades y destrezas motrices. Además, se ha realizado una adaptación de la escala ECOMI (Ruiz y Graupera, 1997) para poder evaluarla y poder realizar las comparaciones de los resultados por edad. Debido a las circunstancias que hemos vivido por el COVID-19, no hemos podido evaluar en base a dicha escala. Pese a ello, con los resultados de las pruebas realizadas hemos obtenido suficientes datos para constatar la hipótesis inicial, pudiendo afirmar, ahora sí, que el alumnado nacido en el primer tercio del año, presenta un desarrollo de las habilidades y destrezas motrices más avanzado que el alumnado nacido en el último tercio. Este hecho debería ser tenido en cuenta en el día a día del aula para poder proporcionar una mejor educación.

In this country, as a general rule, students are grouped by year of birth. This means that students included in a wide period of time up to 12 months share the education in the classrooms. This temporal difference can be seen more at early ages (childhood education), where the main integral development of the human being occurs and the changes are continuous. The aim of this work is to study and investigate if there’s a motor difference in the three-yearold students according to their month of birth. For this, we start from the hypothesis that the month of birth is a handicap to consider in the first years of education. To carry out this research, different tests have been made on 25 students from the same classroom, distributing them in three blocks. With these tests, the maturity of their motor skills and abilities has been evaluated. In addition, an adaptation of the ECOMI scale has been made (Ruiz and Graupera, 1997) in order to evaluate it and to be able to make comparisons of the results by age. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic problems, we have not been able to evaluate based on this scale. Despite this, with the results of the tests made, we have obtained enough data to verify the initial hypothesis, being able to affirm now, that the students born in the first third of the year present a more advanced development of motor skills and abilities than the students born in the last third. This fact should be considered in the daily life of the classroom in order to provide a better education.
