dc.description.abstract | Gender stereotypes have been a controversial topic for years. Lots of authors have stated misconceptions about gender-influenced differences, as, for example, that women are more talkative or have more verbal fluency (Vanda, 2009). Verbal skills have been widely studied in this area and although they suggest a female advantage, plenty of research has rejected this outperform (Schreuringer et al, 2017). This study aims to determine if gender influences the performance on a phonological verbal fluency (PVF) task, as well as to design a decision classification tree to predict participants’ gender depending on their answers on this task. We hypothesize that there will not be differences between the number of words generated between males and females on the test, but that there will be differences in their words given. Besides, we expect our tool to be able to predict with accuracy participants’ gender. | ca_CA |
