In today's society gender stereotypes have predominated, due to the patriarchal structure
and the sex-gender system, which establishes an inequality between men and women, and
therefore, determines the conception of what it is to be a man or a woman, and that society
assigns attitudes, behaviors and norms based on biological sex. Gender stereotypes are
acquired throughout the evolutionary process of the individual through social learning and
the process of socialization. The members of society who identify themselves as
transsexuals also learn these stereotypes, however, it is not unusual for them to adopt
behaviors and attitudes that are contrary to biological sex, that is, according to the desired
sex. The objective focuses on knowing different gender stereotypes that are established in
society and are related to the public and private sphere, emotions and feelings, beauty and
intelligence, games and toys, colors and clothes, the educational and work environment,
sexuality and sports, in a male transsexual subject and in a female transsexual subject,
using a qualitative methodology with ethnographic approach, where a semi-structured
interview is used to collect the information and then analyze the speech of each subject to
treat the data. [-]
