Introduction: Psychooncology aims to increase the quality of life of the cancer
patient and his family. Several studies have shown positive results in the quality
of life and a reduction in the negative symptoms of patients through psychooncological intervention. Aim: The aim of this study is to carry out a literature
review to know about the existence and effectiveness of psychological
interventions aimed improving the emotional status of hospitalized children and
adolescents with cancer. Methodology: The information has been compiled
from Pubmed and EBSCOhost (Psycinfo) during the months of March and April
2019, filtering since 2009 to 2019. The title and abstract of the articles were
read, and those articles that met the inclusion criteria were selected. An
analysis of the methodological quality was carred out by means of the JADAD
scale (from 0 to 5 points, where less tan 3 is low methodological quality).
Results: Of a total of 443 articles resulting from the search, 19 were selected.
Four, carried out cognitive behavioral interventions; five were interventions with
relaxation techniques; three interventions were base don humor; one article
combined relaxation techniques with humor; two interventions were based on
music and four articles made alternative interventions (play, animals, make a
wish and occupational therapy). In general, good results were obtained in the
reduction of stress, anxiety, fatigue and anticipatory fear and a increase in the
quality of life and a positive management of the disease. Discussion:
Relaxation and distraction interventions seem to be the most effective (which is
in line with previous studies). Some limitations of this study are the high number
of quasi-experimental articles in this field and that only two articles meet
adequate levels of methodological quality. This bibliographical review is relevant
for this field because it provides information about interventions and comments
on its effectiveness, something that has not been done for more than 10 years. [-]

Cuatro llevaron a cabo intervenciones cognitivo
