Remedios Montero, una guerrillera antifranquista

Abstract

El presente trabajo analiza la vida de Remedios Montero “Celia” y su participación en la lucha armada contra el franquismo. Hija de un sindicalista de la UGT represaliado por el franquismo, pronto se ofreció a prestar su apoyo a la guerrilla antifranquista que operaba por la zona de Cuenca; al ser interceptada por la Guardia Civil, marcha junto a su familia a los campamentos guerrilleros ubicados por la serranía de Cuenca. Tras la decisión de evacuación de los guerrilleros por parte del Partido Comunista colabora con el partido guiando a los grupos guerrilleros a pasar la frontera. En una de estas misiones, a consecuencia de una traición es detenida y torturada por las fuerzas franquistas. Tras pasar ocho años en distintas cárceles, decide marcharse a Francia para ponerse de nuevo al servicio del Partido Comunista. De Francia pasó a Praga donde fijó su residencia hasta 1978, año en el que junto a su compañero de guerrillas y ahora sentimental regresaron a España.

The present work analyzes the life of Remedios Montero "Celia" and his participation in the armed struggle against Francoism. Daughter of a trade unionist of the UGT who was repressed by the Franco regime, she soon offered her support to the anti-Franco guerrilla that operated in the area of Cuenca; when the Guardia Civil intercepted her, she marched with her family to the guerrilla camps located in la Serranía de Cuenca. After the decision of the Communist Party to evacuate the guerrillas, she continued collaborating with the party, guiding the guerrilla groups across the border. In one of these missions, due to a treason, she is arrested and tortured by the Francoist forces. After spending eight years in different prisons, she decided to go to France and to realign with the Communist Party. From France she went to Prague where she took up residence until 1978, the year in which, together with his guerrilla and now sentimental partner, she came back to Spain.
