The attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is the most common neurodevelopmental
disorder in childhood. It is characterized by symptoms of attention deficit, hyperactivity and
impulsivity, and a characteristic of these children is the social rejection they suffer. The aim of
the research is to analyze through a mediation analysis if the executive functions of planning,
working memory and inhibition act as mediators between the relationship of ADHD and
prosocial behavior, and between the relationship of ADHD and problems with companions. The
sample consisted of 21 children between 7 and 12 years old diagnosed with ADHD. To obtain
the study measures, we applied the DSM-IV scale for ADHD (ADHD RS IV), the subscales of
prosocial behavior and problems with the companions of the capacity and difficulty
questionnaire SDQ of Goodman, the inverse digit subtest of the scale WISC-IV to evaluate
working memory, the test trails (ENFEN), color paths to evaluate planning and the Stroop Test
of colors and words to evaluate inhibition. The obtained results allow affirming that the
executive functions studied do not mediate in the relation between the symptoms of ADHD and
the social behavior. The research provides empirical evidence of the independence of the deficit
in executive functions and the social rejection in children with ADHD. [-]
