El movimiento de las escuelas libres

Abstract

Este trabajo presenta las características principales de lo que ha supuesto el denominado movimiento de las escuelas libres. Por un lado, vamos a conocer a fondo una de las escuelas pioneras del mismo, Summerhill. Descubriremos cómo los niños-as de esa escuela disponen de una libertad absoluta y de qué manera funciona el tan famoso autogobierno. También veremos el tipo de relación que se establece entre el profesorado y alumnado de este centro, además de la manera en la que conciben la educación y cómo logran que los niños-as de la escuela se sientan normalmente tan felices. Por otro lado, nos adentraremos en una escuela libre actual, la Llacuna del Poblenou, que ha decidido transformar su proyecto educativo de centro y adoptar propuestas metodológicas más innovadoras. Además, sabremos en qué consisten los tres tiempos de la Llacuna: el momento de aula, los espacios de libre circulación y las especialidades. Dentro de esta organización de escuela que rompe con la de los centros convencionales, conoceremos en qué consiste trabajar por proyectos dentro del aula. Esta propuesta pedagógica recoge una nueva forma de evaluar a los niños-as que no incluirá la realización de exámenes ni deberes para casa. Todo esto no se podría conseguir sin el compromiso por parte de los maestros-as del centro, por lo que veremos cuántas veces se reúnen y de qué manera resuelven los conflictos que se les presentan. Sin duda, un recorrido por el movimiento que hizo de los niños-as personas libres y felices.

This paper presents the main features of what has been called free schools movement. On the one hand, we are going to learn to get to know one of the schools pioneering the same, Summerhill. Discover how the children of this school have absolute freedom and how works so famous self-government. We also look at the type of relationship between teachers and students of this center, as well as the way in which conceive education and how to achieve that the school children usually feel so happy. On the other hand, we enter a current free school, la Llacuna del Poblenou, which has decided to transform its educational project center and adopt more innovative methodological proposals. In addition, we will know what are the three times of la Llacuna: classroom time, spaces of freedom of movement and specialties. Within this organization of school that breaks with the conventional centers, we will know what is working for projects within the classroom. This pedagogical proposal includes a new way of evaluating the children which shall not include carrying out tests or homework for a house. All this could not get without the commitment by the teachers of the Centre, by what we will see how many times they meet and how to resolve the conflicts that are presented to them. Without a doubt, a tour of the movement that made the children free and happy people.
