No obstante, no

This Final Degree Project is inspired by the Business Culture within the citrus sector. I
have chosen this sector because it is something very typical of my area, Castellón.
Personally, we believe that we must value and publicize the local product, especially
when its quality is excellent, as is the case with our citrus. Within the citrus sector I will
focus on the orange, and I will analyze a little its history, evolution, current situation and
companies that are dedicated to the sector.
To carry out this work, I have researched a renowned company dedicated to the citrus
sector for more than fifty years. This is one of the leaders in the sector, it was founded
in full swing of Valencian citrus and it has known how to adapt over the years to all the
changes necessary to survive and remain one of the best and most competent in the
field of citrus companies. Not all have been fields of roses, the company has had to
make sources for various citrus crises, bad campaigns and adverse times but, even so,
it has managed to resist and continue dedicating itself to its passion, orange.
We will not give the personal data of said company so as not to interfere with the
protection law, but we will rely on it to carry out the necessary analyzes throughout the
work and delve into the world of orange. Its location is in one of the most important
municipalities in citrus production, Burriana, where it has two owned orange
warehouses. They are not the only ones in the group, they have two more handling
centers in Tarragona and Córdoba, whose creation is later.
ƒIts logistics center is concentrated in the municipality of Burriana, where it carries out
different tasks, from hiring cullidors to collect the orange from the tree, through its
preparation and storage. This occurs in the orange warehouses, where the employees,
most of them women, dedicate themselves to triating the appropriate orange for
commercialization, fitting it and loading it on the trucks, for its later distribution and
commercialization.
The company controls and takes care of even the smallest detail since the orange is
collected from the tree until it reaches its final destination, and only the quality one is
put up for sale, discarding the damaged pieces. In order for the chain to function
properly, the company takes care of every detail, from the citrus harvesting in the tree,
to the arrival at its final destination, through the hands of triators, packers and
transporters. Its motto is a quality product with proximity management. They take care of their genre with care and detail and that shows in its flavor and texture, making its
genre one of the best.
Their work, although a small part of it lasts all year, is purely seasonal, starting in late
September and ending in mid-March. During these months different varieties of orange,
navelate, marisol, hernandina and the most popular of all, clementine, are collected
and marketed. Clementine is a consumer favorite, collected from late November to
early January and most famous for its exquisite flavor.
In order to get a quality product, a quality harvesting and preparation is needed and the
company knows this very well. In order for the campaign to be a success, the same
staff is hired every year, incorporating new personnel as there are vacancies due to
retirement, retirement or absence of former employees. The worker's specialization is
sought, training and transmitting the care and love for citrus, to get them to treat it with
the greatest possible care. To maintain its staff, the company uses a motivating
business culture, in which it tries to keep the worker happy and wanting to do their job
to get the best out of it. (1) “Today, the corporate culture marks it and defines
everything. It represents the character of a company, the way it presents itself to the
world, to its employees and to its customers. ” [-]
