dc.description.abstract | Introduction. Pathological Gambling (PG) is a behavioural addiction which prevalence is rated between 1,4% and 1,9% in Spain, and its tend is to increase over time. Due to the small number of people who request treatment, Internet - based psychological interventions are promising to increase the accessibility. Objective . It is intended to obtain high quality information in order to develop effective psychological interv entions and more accessible treatments for people with PG. Method. Two studies have been carried out: a theoretical review about Web - based psychological treatments for PG ; and a qualitative study with clinical professionals by which it is intended to obtai n relevant information about the risk and protective factors that should be taken into account. Results. The studies show the effectiveness of Internet - based psychological treatments for JP that are based on CBT in the short and long term, as well as the e ffectiveness of brief personalized feedback interventions in the medium term. The analysis of the information obtained from the focus group highligh ts the importance of adopting an inte grative approach, personalizing the intervention, and reinforces the ad equacy of Internet use to apply psychological treatments in PG . Likewise, highlighting the accessibility and availability of gambling as the most important risk factor; and emphasise the visibility of the problem as a protective factor . Conclusions . Although s tudies about the effectiveness of online psychological interventions for PG are scarce, promising results have been observed. H owever, it is necessary to move forw ard with this line of research to try to overcome the limitations presented by the studies. | ca_CA |
| ca_CA |
