Abstract

Sor María de Ágreda fue una religiosa del siglo XVII, cuya fe le otorgó, por diferentes medios, los tres hitos por los que la conocemos hoy en día: evangelizar indios americanos sin salir de su villa soriana, mantener correspondencia con el rey Felipe IV, y ser la autora de la Mística Ciudad de Dios, obra censurada durante siglos por ser del dogma inmaculista concepcionista. A través de dichos tres caminos: su misticismo, su vida social y su faceta de escritora, conoceremos a la mujer de su tiempo, su contexto y responderemos a las cuestiones que plantea su biografía.

Sor Maria of Agreda was a seventeenth-century nun, whose faith gave her the three milestones for which we know her today: to evangelize American Indians without leaving her sorian village, to correspond with King Philip IV, and to be the author of the Mística Ciudad de Dios, work censored during centuries for being of the dogmatic conceptionist immaculist. Through these three paths: her mysticism, her social life and her role as a writer, we will know the woman of her time, her context and we will answer the questions raised by her biography
