dc.description.abstract | The project consists of the design and development of a video game for infrastructure management, aimed at children between 12 and 16 years old, where the player, starting from a small town, must get it to become a big city managing its water resources while Understands the integral cycle of water. The game will also try to convey an awareness message about water saving and the value it has both as a natural resource and its economic cost. The project has been created taking into account an initial planning previously presented and a continuous development for this. The different deadlines for each task performed are explained in this document, taking into account the initial planning and how it has been modified throughout the process . The first phase of the project has been aimed at the creation of the construction system that allows the player to build the necessary infrastructures to grow the city. The construction system consists in the actions the player can do, like place buildings, and a large number of UI menus. The next part developed is the resources manager, that controls all the player stats and resources, allowing to build or not, and manage the population needs. After this in the next phase the development was focused on the landscape, modelling it, and the HUD showing the player stats on screen. After finishing that part all the previous work was merged and tested looking for errors. In the next phase the work consisted in the more visual part of the educational content, the minigames that popups in some moment to show some processes and teach about them or to raise awareness about the wasting of water. After all of this the game was tested by 3 different people looking for some bug. The project is still in development and in the future it will have a lot of new features. | ca_CA |
