The objective of the present study is to perform a review of the scientific literature
to clarify the current situation of psychological therapies administered through the
internet. The bibliographic review has been carried out mainly through meta-analysis and
taking into account a search range from 2009 to the present. These innovative
treatments achieve to break down the physical and psychological barriers that don´t
allow a large number of patients to access psychological treatments, these benefits are
largely due to their remote management and their anonymity. The general results
obtained are positive in terms of their efficacy and effectiveness, in particular the
programs based on cognitive-behavioral therapy offered via the Internet are already used and recommended by the Public Health of several European countries in the prevention,
treatment and as a complement in the usual psychological treatments for depression
disorders and anxiety disorders. In addition, the cost-effectiveness of the treatment
administered via the internet is significantly improved than the usual face-to-face
psychological therapy between the patient and the therapist [-]
