Brujería en femenino y masculino: delito y condena en la España de los Austrias

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo ha sido ahondar entre las diferentes calificaciones que se les otorgaban a aquellos acusados por brujería, tanto a las mujeres como a los hombres, creando una tipología de brujos y brujas. Haremos también un recorrido por la bruja satánica y su aquelarre, tan característicos de la zona vasconavarra, por los diferentes tipos de instituciones capaces de condenar por brujería, y valoraremos la cuestión de género. Las tipologías que encontraremos vienen a representar los diferentes medios en los que encontrábamos a brujas y brujos, que a su vez venían caracterizados por el proceso al que habían sido sometidos. La Inquisición, los municipios y los señoríos fueron los encargados de acusar, juzgar y condenar, favoreciendo la aparición de múltiples nombres que venían a definir lo mismo.

The objective of this work has been to go deeply between the different qualifications that were granted to those defendants by witchcraft, both to the women and to the men, creating a typology of wizards and witches. We will do also a tour for the satanic witch and his witches' sabbath, so typical of the zone vasconavarra, for the different types of institutions capable of condemning for witchcraft, and will value the question of kind. The typology that we will find come to represent the different means in which we were finding witches and wizards, who in turn were coming characterized by the process to which they had been submitted. The Inquisition, the municipalities and the dominions were the managers of accusing, judging and condemning, favoring the appearance of multiple names that were coming to define the same thing.
