Marjane Satrapi y sus pertenencias identitarias

Abstract

El presente Trabajo de Final de Grado se va a centrar en el estudio y análisis de la identidad entendida como conjunto de pertenencias, en un determinado contexto como es Irán en la segunda mitad del siglo XX, principios del XXI. Para ello hemos seguido el hilo de Persépolis, la novela gráfica autobiográfica de la artista iraní Marjane Satrapi, pues en ella se narra su historia haciendo hincapié en un acontecimiento clave que cambió Irán: la caída del régimen del shah Mohammad Reza Pahlaví en 1979 y el nacimiento de la República Islámica de Irán, todavía vigente. Con ello se creó una dicotomía en la sociedad tanto en el ámbito público como privado entre tradición y modernidad. Tomando como sujeto de estudio a Satrapi, quien vivió los acontecimientos en primera persona, analizaremos sus pertenencias como iraní, como mujer y como migrante, haciendo especial hincapié en esta última. Para estudiar y analizar el caso de forma completa, abordaremos en el primer capítulo el contexto histórico, político y social del Irán del último siglo, ya que sin él resultaría imposible entender la historia de Satrapi y cómo se ha llegado a producir en ella crisis existenciales. En el segundo capítulo, se incidirá en la complejidad de la cuestión identitaria y en la identidad entendida como conjunto de pertenencias. Por último, en el tercer capítulo, realizaremos un análisis pormenorizado de la opera magna de Satrapi, Persépolis, a través de la cual iremos tratando sus diferentes pertenencias.

The present Final Project is going to be focused on the study and analysis of the identity understood as an ensemble of belongings, in a certain context such as Iran in the second half of the 20th century and beginning of the 21st century. To make this possible, we have followed the story of Persepolis, the autobiographic graphic novel from the Iranian artist Marjane Satrapi, who tells her story focusing on the key event that changed Iran: the fall of the regime of the shah Mohammad Reza Pahlaví in 1979 and the beginning of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is still in force nowadays. All of this created a dichotomy in the public and private areas of the society, between tradition and modernity. We will take Satrapi as subject of study and we will analyse her belongings as Iranian, woman and migrant, emphasizing in the last one. To study and analyse the case in its totality, we will address in the first chapter the historical, political and social context of Iran in the last century, since without it understanding Satrapi’s story and how she could suffer those existential crisis would be impossible. In the second chapter, we will talk about the complexity of the identity question and the identity understood as a group of belongings. Finally, in the third chapter, we will carry out a very detailed analysis of Satrapi’s opera magna through which we will address her different belongings
