There are three statements that we must take into account to realize the importance of the influence that NGOs have over corporations. Firstly, it is worth noting that society is a stakeholder for corporations, which means that the success or failure of the company depends on this group. So, it is necessary to pay special attention to the role that society plays in corporate contexts (Freeman, et al., 2007). The second statement is based on the assumption that environmental sustainability is now one of the growing social concerns (Franzen, 2013). The third and final contends that environmental NGOs serve as a mouthpiece for ever larger sections of society concerned about environmental issues. On the bases of these three premises, we argue that environmental NGOs interests should be considered from a business perspective because they can affect a company’s success or failure. [-]
