We consider it is relevant research on attitudes towards diversity because it is a current issue, due to increased immigration and integration of people with other difficulties. Thus, we believe that attitudes toward these individuals will influence the interaction with them and their integration into society.
Regarding the studies conducted on “attitudes towards diversity “, will focus on classrooms of primary and secondary education and careers in teaching, finding only an investigation that compares different university. Therefore, our study we intend to see if there are differences between attitudes toward diversity displayed by college students depending on the area of knowledge.
Thus, the dependent variable in question is the attitude toward diversity and independent variable includes five areas of knowledge (education, human, technical, and Experimental Social).
The type of instrument used is a Likert scale consisting of 25 items that measure an opinion or attitude. The answers are multiple choice, numbered 1 to 5, this being a progression numbering between “Strongly disagree” (1) and “Strongly agree” (5).
Finally, the analysis of results we use the SPSS to implement a Anova that tells us that there are differences in attitudes toward diversity displayed by students from different areas of knowledge. [-]
