La digitalización del sector cinematográfico es la más lenta e incierta de todas las que acontecen, ya no solo en el panorama audiovisual, sino en el contexto de las industrias culturales. La industria cinematográfica se ha encontrado por este camino con unos obstáculos que, desde el primer momento, han sido identificados como incógnitas por resolver. El coste económico y la responsabilidad de la financiación, los estándares tecnológicos y la seguridad de transmisión de contenido han sido los factores determinantes que han guiado la transición tecnológica. Estos elementos se definen sobre una estructura basada en sectores industriales descoordinados y con disparidad —tanto en sus intereses como en sus necesidades— por lo que presentan un acusado desequilibrio en la distribución de sus fuerzas. The digitalisation of the cinematographic sector is the slowest and most hesitant of all those that have been undertaken, not only in the audiovisual scenario, but within the context of cultural industries as a whole. In the process, the cinematographic industry has come up against a number of obstacles that, from the very outset, have been identified as mysteries to be solved. The economic cost and responsibility for funding, the technological standards and content transmission security have been decisive factors guiding the technological transition. These elements are defined over a structure based on uncoordinated industrial sectors that suffer from disparity, in terms of both their interests and their needs, which means they display a pronounced imbalance in the distribution of their forces.
