Gel-type Supported Ionic Liquid-like Phases (g-SILLPs) have been employed as medium for the preparation of Palladium carbene (Pd-NHC) complexes. These supported complexes onto ionic liquid-like phases were employed as catalysts for the phosphine-, copper- and amine-free Sonogashira reaction showing excellent activity and selectivity. The loading and nature of the ionic liquid-like moieties have proved to have an effect in the reactivity of the different Pd-NHC-g-SILLPs prepared, with TOF values ranging from 450 to 25000 h. [-]
