Paraula poètica i cultura de la mort en Vicent Andrés Estellés

Abstract

Al llarg dels anys la poesia d'Estellés tracta el tema de la mort de manera reiterada i ho fa des de perspectives diferents. D'una banda, hi ha els morts col•lectius de la guerra i de la postguerra. D'una altra banda, hi ha la mort com a fenomen individual, en un itinerari que va des de concepcions més metafísiques o explícitament religioses fins a una visió més laica que focalitza imatges molt concretes com ara el taüt. 'Primera soledad' ocupa un lloc crucial en aquest itinerari. Es tracta d'un poemari escrit en castellà arran de la mort de la seua primera filla de tres mesos, que va romandre inèdit durant tres dècades i que mostra el resultat d'una experiència traumàtica elaborada poèticament i que segurament va determinar canvis substancials en la poètica estellesiana.

Over the years, the poetry of Estellés deals with the subject of death time and again and it does so from a number of different perspectives. On the one hand, there are the collective deaths of war and the post-war period. On the other hand, there is death as an individual phenomenon, where the poet follows a path that runs from the most metaphysical or explicitly religious conceptions to a more laic vision that focuses on more concrete images such as the coffin. ‘Primera soledad’ (First solitude) is a vital step on this journey. It is a collection of poems written in Spanish following the death of his first daughter at the age of three months that remained unpublished for thirty years and offers the result of a poetically elaborated traumatic experience. Without a doubt this was a turning point that led to substantial changes in the poetry of Estellés.
