Tiziano en la poesía española del Siglo de Oro

Abstract

La obra de Tiziano ha motivado desde el siglo XVI hasta nuestros días una importante serie de alusiones literarias y ejercicios ecfrásticos o culturalistas. El presente estudio aborda, de forma inédita, un análisis crítico sobre la presencia de Tiziano y su obra en la poesía española del Renacimiento y del Barroco. Un número considerable de grandes autores (de Gutierre de Cetina a Lope de Vega o Quevedo) muestran la influencia tizianesca en sus obras en un variado abanico de temas y técnicas literarias. Dentro del campo de estudio de las antiquísimas relaciones entre la pintura y la poesía, los textos seleccionados en este trabajo resultan importantes por representar una primera interpretación lírica del genial pintor veneciano en la literatura española, precedente de las ricas y heterogéneas poéticas contemporáneas.

Titian’s work has from the sixteenth century to the present day motivated an important series of literary allusions and ekphrastic or culturalist exercises. This study addresses, in a way that is unprecedented, a critical analysis of the presence of Titian and his work in Spanish Renaissance and Baroque poetry. A considerable number of great authors (from Gutierre de Cetina to Lope de Vega and Quevedo) show Titian’s influence on their works over a wide range of literary themes and techniques. Within the field of study of the ancient relationships between painting and poetry, the texts selected in this work are important because they represent a first lyrical interpretation of the brilliant Venetian painter in Spanish literature, a precedent for the rich and heterogeneous contemporary poetics.
