This paper offers a state of the art review of the human occupations spanning the period between
15000 and 11700 cal BP (12500-10000 BP) in the current province of Castellón. Following a short
description of the archaeological and/or artistic contexts published so far we will sum up and critically
evaluate the main contributions of these lands to current debates on the definition of the postmagdalenian sequence, the elements of continuity and change between the final Upper Magdalenian
and the Epimagdalenian, and the persistence of the Palaeolithic artistic cycle. [-]
