comenzó a utilizar hace escasos años. Permite proyectar fondos, generar efectos
publicitarias (Acceso Ilimitado Stories: Un Nuevo Ratchet, Volkswagen x Star Wars:
Obi Wan Kenobi y Rosalía x Cupra: R de Rosalía) y tres piezas audiovisuales no
publicitarias (los largometrajes Thor: Love and Thunder y The Batman, y los

The Stagecraft system is a film production technique that started to be used a few
years ago. It permits to project backgrounds, generate visual effects and create
ambient lighting by means of three large LED screens that form a large semicircular
screen and a ceiling.
This research traces a line from the background of the system to its current
applications and proposes an analysis of three audiovisual advertising pieces
("Acceso Ilimitado Stories: A New Ratchet", "Volkswagen x Star Wars: Obi Wan
Kenobi" and "Rosalia x Cupra: R for Rosalia") and three non-advertising audiovisual
pieces (the films Thor: Love and Thunder and The Batman, and episodes 1 and 2 of
the TV series "The Mandalorian"). Six case studies that provide evidence, on the one
hand, of major differences in the use of the Stagecraft system depending on the
genre in which it is applied and, on the other hand, of a very discreet implementation
in the advertising field as opposed to the important bet on the film scenario.
A question that proves that despite the multiple creative possibilities offered by the
Stagecraft system, its use is still limited by the great challenges posed to the human
teams of audiovisual productions as well as by the high economic investments that
the technique requires. Difficulties that even today motivate the existence of several
productions that combine this new system with classic methods of background
integration such as the well-known chroma key. [-]
