Supramolecular gels are large structures or networks formed by the self-assembly of
small organic molecules, called low molecular weight gelators (LMWGs), by noncovalent interactions, like π-π stacking, hydrogen bonding, van der Waals interactions,
ion pairing, solvophobic forces and coordination. Due to these interactions, the organic
molecules are organized into fibers that immobilize the solvent in the interstices of a
solid matrix. As a result, a viscoelastic semi-solid is obtained [...] [-]
