The main purpose of this paper is to observe the functioning and relevance of
phenomena such as intertextuality or remediation within the communicative
fabric. In this specific case, the aim is to explain how the characteristic features
of pictorial discipline are integrated into media such as cinema or advertising. To
this end, and using the work of Vincent van Gogh as an example, an analysis has
been carried out that attempts to adress what specific modifications the works of
art must undergo in order to fit into other types of channels, with special emphasis
on advertising. Based on this approach and its conclusions, but starting from
theories that help to better understand this phenomenon, in addition to studying
the position of these modifications within the pictorial process, the aim is to find
a solution to a twofold issue: with what strategic purpose these tools are used
and how the viewer's reception and interpretation of the works are affected once
this has taken place. [-]
