Obtaining organosilane compounds in a simple and economic way is of great
interest in the chemical industry. In particular, organisilanes are currently produced
industrially in a wide variety of polymeric compounds based in silicones and epoxysilicone copolymers such as sealants, coatings or adhesives.1
Organosilane compounds are those that have at least a silicon-carbon (Si-C)
bond. Currently there are a lot of methods to obtain this type of compounds. One of them
is the Müller-Rochow Process that is considered the origin of organosilanes based on
catalysis. In this process, C-Si bonds are produced from the reaction catalyzed by copper
between alkyl halides with elemental silicon to produce dimethildichlorosilane (Scheme
1.1). [...] [-]
