Since 2019, burnout is considered an occupational disease and one of the groups that
we find most sensitive to suffer it is the health sector. Workload, insufficient material or
the management of emotions are some of the causes that make this group so
susceptible of developing burnout.
An important part is emotional management and in this study we try to observe if a high
level of emotional intelligence implicitly implies a defense mechanism against suffering
burnout.
Unfortunately, the pandemic has prevented the collection of total data. Although the
sample is not very wide if we can observe that there is a high significance between
depersonalization, manifested as cynicism, and emotional intelligence
From the perspective of human resources, a series of techniques are proposed to
prevent or act as soon as possible against burnout.
Human resources have the necessary tools to care for those who care for us and given
the current situation it is time to use them. [-]
