ràpid creixement urbà i econòmic. [-]

During the second half of the 13th century, the Crown of Aragon expanded much faster than it had
done before, so in less than ten years the Kingdom of Mallorca and the Kingdom of Valencia were
annexed. The conquest of the latter began in Morella, a Muslim fortification of certain strategic
importance but of little economic and social relevance, nevertheless, the Christian authorities, first
Blasco de Alagón and later the own monarchs, began, from the very beginning, a policy of socioeconomic strengthening of the village, making it in just fifty years one of the main towns in the
kingdom. In this work we will see that evolution, from the political part and from the architectonic
one, analyzing in more detail this last one, trying to calibrate all that constructive process and its
urban evolution from a fundamentally building studies view, in which both the characteristics of the
buildings and their reasons for being or their financing are taken into account. Thus, we will try to
find the reasons that explain this rapid urban and economic growth. [-]
