This project is addressed to all the childhood education students, in order to make
them know the folklore of different regions worldwide and help promoting the inclusion in the
classroom.
Several countries have been chosen to work their typical songs, countries such as
Denmark, Austria, United States of America, Spain, India, Congo and Mexico.
The proposal is to carry out the project under the project-based methodology,
creating one of them for each country that is to be carried out. In these projects, kids would
have to investigate things like typical food, traditions, music, clothing, etc. and on fridays, the
musical part of each country will be treated. Around this area there will be different types of
activities, such as learning dances, internalize the rhythm, singing and even improvise. The
families will have an active roll, therefore, we will also use the learning communities
methodology, as it can be so interesting because possibly there will be kids from worldwide
that can show us their country’s folklore and working with their families can be so profitable,
as they can help to create a more relaxed atmosphere while creating stronger bonds
between family and school.
Some of these activities will use Dalcroze’s methods to develop rhythm and hearing.
There are also activities with Orff’s methodology, based in the use of the voice. [-]
