The objective of this article is to identify the levels of burnout and anxiety in health professionals in the city of Santa
Marta, Colombia. In methodological terms, it is a quantitative research with an explanatory approach that selected a
sample of 59 physicians to whom the standardized measurement instruments were applied: The Maslach Burnout
Inventory Questionnaire, and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (IDARE), as well as a sociodemographic
characterization sheet. We can mention among the main results the presence of Burnout in 25,4% of the population,
alarming levels of anxiety because 57,63% have a medium level and 42,37%, high. By way of conclusion, it is stated
that both the levels of burnout and anxiety of doctors can affect their work performance and professional practice. [-]

El presente artículo tiene como objetivo identificar los niveles de burnout y ansiedad en profesionales del área de la
salud en la ciudad de Santa Marta, Colombia. En términos metodológicos, es una investigación de carácter cuantitativo
con un enfoque explicativo que seleccionó una muestra de 59 médicos a los cuales se les aplicaron los instrumentos de
medición estandarizados: el Cuestionario de Maslach Burnout Inventory, y el Inventario de Ansiedad Rasgo-Estado
(IDARE), así como una ficha de caracterización sociodemográfica. Se pueden mencionar entre los principales resultados
la presencia de Burnout en el 25,4% de la población, alarmantes niveles de ansiedad pues el 57,63% presenta un nivel
medio y un 42,7%, alto. A manera de conclusiones, se expone que tanto los niveles de burnout como de ansiedad de los
médicos pueden afectar su rendimiento laboral y el ejercicio profesional. [-]
