This study is devoted to an analysis in feminism among the main novels of the Brontë
sisters: Jane Eyre, written by Charlotte, Wuthering Heights, by Emily and The Tenant of
Wildfell Hall by Anne Brontë. Feminism is concerned with reaching the equality between
both genders, male and female. This paper examines how this ideology is reflected in the
main works of each author and thus how the protagonists of the stories reach their own goals.
The differences among the three writers are notable, regarding personality, ideology or love,
despite being raised in the same background. After a deep analysis on how marriage
oppresses women during the nineteenth society, it is observed that the main female characters
of each novel developed a new ideology in gender equality, which paved the way for women
to have a voice to fight against the social inequality that existed during the 19th century. [-]
