dc.description.abstract | Introduction: The stigma towards people with mental illnesses is very high in our society, for this reason, the objective of this bibliographic review is to know the attitudes and beliefs that society has about mental disorders, and if there are differences or association, within society. Methodology: A bibliographic review of articles published in the last seven years has been carried out: (2012 - 2019) where major databases in Spanish and English were consulted, three categories were developed to classify the information, this grouping was carried out by categorization of meanings, proposed by Kvale 1996. The recognition of rights they have within society, fear, danger they present and stigmatization by society. Results: We have selected 21 Publications, most of the publications that were analyzed, indicate that society is influenced by the media, with prejudices, stereotypes against stigma towards people with mental illnesses. The lack of correct information, the little knowledge, is likely to be one of the causes, for which society is influenced, to have a misconception about people who have a mental disorder. Conclusions: The evidence showed that there is a need for education, training, aimed at the media, health professionals and the general population, to correct the misconceptions about people suffering from a mental disorder and their illness. | ca_CA |
| ca_CA |
