The game engines are one of the essential and daily used applications on the game development
field. These applications are designed to assist in the creation of this type of content. Nevertheless,
there are not many research papers about the game engine architecture definition and specification.
Furthermore, the mechanisms involved in the behaviour definition are still very difficult to
standardize, given its inherent relationship with the subjective design of the game logic and the
capabilities of the programming language that supports it. In this sense, this work presents the
design and development of a game engine along with its game logic system raised from the study
and analysis of the state-of-the-art literature on this subject. Finally, an arcade 2D platform game
has been developed to determine its potential. [-]
