Long interested in the business-human rights binomial, the authors highlight a number
of aspects of the impact of business' actions on the democratic system. First of all, they
analyze the impact on the electoral sphere, taking the Citizens United case as a special
reference. Two attacks against fundamental freedoms, constituted by the SLAPP
Litigation and the use of disinformation techniques, are then addressed, after which the
study is completed with notes on interferences in the regulatory processes, focused on
lobbies and so-called revolving doors and the central point constituted by investment
arbitrations. Brief concluding reflections, calling for the analysis and close monitoring
of these phenomena, put an end to the contribution. [-]
