This work arises from the need to discover the perception that teachers have of the lack of motivation of their students. To this end, this research bases on two objectives. A first objective was to know the teacher personal and internal supports or barriers that could condition motivational strategies. On the other hand, the second objective focused on the evaluation of these motivational strategies that teachers use. For this purpose, a semi-structured questionnaire was developed to 21 primary school teachers, 8 of whom were men and 13 women. In addition, the courses they taught were 4th, 5th and 6th grade of primary school. This means that the students are pre-adolescent children, stage where the student’s motivation begins to decrease due to various factors; the most evident is the body's own hormonal change.
After the subsequent analysis of the results, noteworthy results were obtained, such as the high level of training of the teachers surveyed. This finding indicates that the test subjects will be able to face up effectively the different situations that may arise in the educational act, due to their formation is integral and equitable. However, one not so positive result detected during the analysis of the results was the large number of factors that teachers believe to be uncontrollable in motivating their students. With this concern in mind, this research has served to establish some coherent responses to improve the motivation of these preteens. [-]
