Pikolinos intercontinental S.A: an economic and financial analysis

Abstract

This paper studies the economic and financial structure that presents a company dedicated to the footwear industry, called Pikolinos Intercontinental SA. Studying the years from 2011 to 2016. To achieve our objectives, first of all, we have analyzed the Balance Sheet and the Income Statement. Afterwards, we have analyzed the main ratios used by the literature in the treatment of the companies financial statements, in order to perform a comparative work with the main competitors in the market sector in which Pikolinos Intercontinental SA operates, for the purpose of positioning the company concerning to the others. We have concluded that Pikolinos Intercontinental SA is a very healthy company with constant growth of assets, sales revenue, profits, with high ratios of liquidity, solvency, profitability, and nevertheless it is not the company with the best results in the magnitudes studied within its competitors.
